My weight loss journey-Losing 10kgs in 53 days!

Lets first have some flashback-I was neither too skinny nor too fat all through school and college..when i moved to Chennai in January 2008, i stayed in a hostel for the first time and that is when i slowly started putting on weight with all the outside food..i got engaged in June 2008 and married in September 2008 and since then the piling on of weight started..what started as eating out or at relatives' place for the wedding treat had started to show and by the time EA convinced me to join the gym, i got pregnant and no one could tell me a thing!!
I gorged on sweets, chocolates and ice-cream and after the delivery and the year after, i was fine with being fat-i just felt like i had achieved something by having a baby and post pregnancy and breast-feeding for a year, all women will look like me!
Slowly, reality started sinking in and though people close to me said nothing about my weight(including EA), i suddenly realised that i was fat!!!! There were some indications though-at the doc's place, the tailor, non-availability of a variety of ready-made clothes in my size etc etc..
Then i decided to do something about it. There is a ladies gym in my apartment but with a toddler who doesnt even let me go to the loo in peace, that seemed out of question. I started walking in the evening but i couldnt walk for a long time carrying Oviya who used to squirm and want to jump down and play in the mud for hours.
EA had mentioned months ago that his colleague's wife lost 23 kilos by visiting a dietician and following a strict diet. I suddenly decided i am going to lose weight and an amused EA took me to the same dietician. She looked at me and said, "Will you be able to follow this strict diet?" I just nodded my head. The first 2 weeks were a breeze. I was excited and although i had to eat green leafy veggies daily(something i hate the most), i religiously followed the diet and lost an astounding 4.5kgs in 2 weeks!! The dietician was very happy and i was over the moon. The next 2 weeks i felt i had been faithful to the diet but had lost only 600gms. I got a nice dose from the dietician and i was in tears. The next few weeks, it got harder and harder. I hated the green leafy veggies, the oats etc. Finally, after 53 days, i lost 10 kgs!!!! It should have taken me 40 days at my age but what the heck, i did it!
The reaction i got from friends and family has been great. Some of the clothes that i had discarded believing that they will never fit me are now perfect for me! EA too is impressed with my effort.
Its more than a month now since i stopped the diet but thankfully i havent put on more weight. I have actually lost another kilo!
Hoping that i can maintain this for as long as possible..atleast till my sister's wedding in November!;)

Anon-The diet is about cutting down on rice, avoiding fried foods, sweets completely and eating more of fruits and veggies daily..if ur interested,let me know, i will mention the mail id of my dietician..if ur from Chennai, u can consult her in person..

does it involve exercise too?

Anon-No,the diet doesnt involve exercise.But, I did some light walking for 2-3 days a week for about 20min.
