After a long time, we decided to go shopping to T Nagar yesterday for my sister's wedding. It is in November but we wanted to avail some "Aadi Discount!"
As we passed by the place where we used to stay earlier before Oviya came along, i couldnt help but have tears in my eyes. The place was perfect for us at that time.It was close to my office,EA's office bus would come closeby, it was a shopper's paradise etc. The worse part was when i saw that my office had shifted to a place that was a stone's throw away from our home. I somehow composed myself and went to GRT and realised with a rude shock that gold prices had risen so high that a simple chain and pendant cost almost as much as a Honda Activa!! EA and me tried our hand at the "tallest bangle contest" and failed miserably!! We saw Usha Uthup and i wanted to tell her that i had met her earlier nearly 14 years ago when she was a judge on the Bournvita Quiz Contest where i was a participant but i didnt utter a word.Oviya ran all around the place and it was a nightmare for us and the staff to prevent her from snatching whatever she could!
After a quick lunch at Murugan Idly Shop, we went to Nalli, Kumaran, Pothys etc to choose a saree and we went mad trying to choose one in the crowd and Oviya screaming and running all over the shop. The cost of sarees is too high and a decent one costs about 15K. Not wanting to spend so much on a saree considering my laziness to wear one when i can easily slip into a salwar, we went from shop to shop. Finally we chose one at Nalli 100 and it is a combination of two sarees that i already have!:(
After some quick footwear shopping at Metro and some fashion jewellery at Narayana Pearls, we reached home at 8pm.
So that was a big day of shopping and I dont think we are going to venture out in the near future for anymore shopping!! Managing Oviya is very difficult at the moment and we almost lost her at Nalli when she ran after a little boy and we realised that a few seconds late!!!
PS: On the way to GRT, we happened to see a Jaguar.I dont think i have seen a car that hot!! Three years ago i couldnt differentiate between a Maruti and a Santro and now after being married to an automobile engineer for almost 3 years, i can identify and appreciate a Jaguar!;)
